Some Big Next Steps in Our Great Adventure
As our friends and regular listeners know, in May we stepped down from our elected position and our roles with our fellowship to pursue other facets of our calling.
One possibility we thought likely was starting a church in the city in which we live, and we knew there would be a missions component to the things we did in the future. Things did not turn out exactly as we expected, but for the past number of months we’ve been walking a very exciting and compelling path that we can now make public.
We are excited and, to tell you the truth, a little overwhelmed that we’ve gained such an amazing opportunity.
We are partnering with Assemblies of God World Missions in the building of a leadership development initiative that we believe will have a positive and transformational effect upon the continent of Africa through the equipping and development of effective leaders. We believe this is an opportunity to accelerate life transformation through the power of the Gospel of Christ.
There’s a lot more to the story of how we came to this decision and what it will mean, and we talk about many of those things in this episode of Calibrate Life.
We are passionate about lifting and resourcing leaders for the cause of Christ, and we’ve been honored and excited to be asked to partner with Assemblies of God World Missions to go to Africa and help develop leaders across the continent; to lift, resource, equip, encourage, and assist them in accelerating the gospel of Christ.
That’s the simple and straightforward version… for more details, listen to the podcast.
Calibration Tools… Calibrating our lives and lifting those we love and lead.
- How is God calling you, and how has he gifted you to best demonstrate the heart and humility of Christ?
- Is pride and not wanting to sacrifice what you have “earned” holding you back from discovering the greatest adventure you may ever imagine?
- Can you trust God in leading you toward things that are massively bigger than you are?
Finally…
We are overwhelmed and terrified in a good way. Our trust and dependency must be placed in God. In some ways we are certain we don’t know what we don’t know yet. We have a million question, but we are walking forward into this future presented us by God.
We are still going to create resources, still going to interface with leaders in the U.S. on some very intentional and enriching levels, but Africa’s leaders have become a major focus.
Stay tuned… much, much more to come.
